The second album by E-Tiefengrund is the successor of Voltage Sessions as one can guess from the subtitle "Voltage Sessions II"

„A Scent of Jasmine“ makes an event from June 2013 to the subject of this album.
We passed through the lignite open-cast mining area of Inden (not far from Cologne) and stopped in the abandoned village Pier, which has to give way to the giant excavator in the next years.
Fascinated from the strange atmosphere we left the car to take some film and photo shots.
Walking through the streets of the abandoned houses with their planked windows and doors we smelled
a more discrete scent of Jasmine.

Voltage Sessions are live jam sessions
in the Tiefengrund Studio with mainly
analogue modular synthesizers.

Recording happens absolutely live
with 8 or 16 step sequencers,
no overdubs are being used.
Mixing is realtime during the session.
The result is a stereo-track
that can be mastered finally.

I think Cosmic Ground is a exciting band. Old fashioned and with nice vibes and rhytms. But I miss something. Many compare with TD. Maybe, but I lack the crescendo at the end of the songs. It becomes boring when the end lacks a Froeselike guitarsolo. Something is missing, the crescendo is missing, the songs just exit out with no proper end explosion. Roger Adler
